Ruby Red Herbal Iron Tonic Recipe

This Ruby Red Herbal Iron Tonic is highly nutritive and a great way to help improve iron levels in the body.

It is made out of our botanical infusion Ruby that contains herbs such as nettle leaf, alfalfa and dandelion leaf that are rich in iron and other minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. It also contains hibiscus, which is anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidants and Vitamin C and orange pieces that are also high in Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to enhance the body’s ability to absorb iron.

This tonic makes a great addition to your daily diet as well as being suitable for times when extra nutrition is needed such as pregnancy, after birth, breastfeeding and stressful periods as well as if you have low levels of iron.

 
INGREDIENTS
½ cup Ruby Botanical Infusion
500mL filtered water
1/3 cup organic blackstrap molasses
1/8 cup raw honey
 
DIRECTIONS
1. Place the Ruby Botanical Infusion into a small saucepan with the filtered water. Bring to the boil, then simmer until reduced by about half.
2. Strain out the plant material and pour the infusion back into the saucepan and take it off the heat.
3. Once the infusion has slightly cooled add the molasses and honey and stir until mixed.
4. Pour it into a sterilised jar or bottle and store in the fridge.
 
DOSAGE: Take 2 tablespoons daily.
Use within 3 months.
You can make up larger amounts of the mixture but if it isn’t going to be consumed within 3 months I recommend adding 1/8 cup brandy or vodka to every cup of syrup to help preserve it.
